He busted the fire door and emerged in theater 9 of the Century 16 Movie Theaters in Aurora, Colorado. He threw canisters of unknown gas. He took aim, and started firing his assault rifle at people. He killed at least 12 people, including a 9 year old, and wounded as many as 50 others, of whom a 3 month old baby.
He then proceeded to the back of the building, where he parked his car, and was arrested, without further incident.
He apparently hinted that he had explosives at his residence. Cops converged to 1690 Paris St, Apt 10, about 4 miles away. They jumped in the fireman's platform and looked inside the apartment from the window.
