Are Purell and Lysol killing us??

I been meaning to blog about this even before I ever had a blog....

Does germ warfare really work? Or are we sanitizing ourselves out of an immune system??? I remember when I was a kid (no there were no dinosaurs left....) we got dirty all the time. Played in mud, ate earthworms, poked dead animals etc etc (OMG I just realized I may be a redneck!!!). Our mothers would tell us we were pigs, but I don't recall them saying ''OMG WE NEED TO BATHE YOU IN PURELL, BURN YOUR CLOTHES AND CALL THE DOCTOR!!''

Viruses, bacteria are everywhere, and they’re generally supposed to be. The chain of life didn’t evolve in a bucket of Lysol. 18% of adults do not wash their hands after using the bathroom; 23% do not wash up before handling food; 25% do not wash after changing a diaper. With this 20-something percent of the population roaming the streets, touching door knobs, elevator buttons, gas pumps, bank pens, ketchup pumps, half and half containers and so on, how safe from germs will we ever be?

The food allergies rate is thru the roof nowadays; When did it become criminal negligence to bring a peanut butter and jam sandwich to school??? Calves don't need pasteurized milk, why do we??

My mom (and other moms) used to cut the chicken right on the counter top, and clean it with REGULAR pine sol.Never got food poisening, EVER. In fact, we had 3 or 4 cleaning products MAX: Windex, for windows, bleach for the bathroom and the occasionnal load of whites, and pine-sol for everything else! That's it. No ''99.9% germ killing action'' detergents. Did we get sick?? 'Course we did....but very rarely did someone die from the flu....On top of it all, experts have warned us literally for years that our society’s use of anti-bacterial soaps will come back to bite us with the advent of “super bugs,” bacterial strains that are immune to much of our pharmaceutical arsenal.

FDA Issues Warning Over Hand Sanitizers' False Claims

By: NY1 News
Some popular hand sanitizers that claim to keep you germ-free may not be protecting you from all that is says it is.
The Food and Drug Administration is warning consumers not to rely on products that claim they prevent infection from MRSA, the staph bacteria.
The FDA says these assertions are unproven and it has issued warnings to four different hand sanitizer manufacturers.
Claims that these specific hand sanitizers prevent infection from E. coli, salmonella, and the H1N1 flu virus are also being investigated.

100 years ago, people drank straight from the river. Now we got Brita to go. Seriously...I saw that on TV last night and nearly fell off my chair (ok I been drinking a bit from the bud light river;)).

When we caught lice in school (yes it DID happen and no one I know died from it) we used to dip our heads in chemicals (ie NIX) and that was it....repeat if necessary. Now we need the non chemical, naturally grown with no pesticides treatment that you need to apply 79 fucking times for it to work (Actually I just think the lice get bored with the treatment and leave on their own, unarmed).

That brings me to bio foods......WTF is that???  Tomatoes grown in manure....how fucking bio is that??? Ok you can help mother nature by applying a coat of Union Carbide's best bug repellent, but that's why our mothers always told us to WASH our veggies before eating them!!! And did you see the price of that shit???  4 tomatoes for like 8$. And a quick search shows you that they are not ''that'' bio.....

All this is done to raise the life expectancy of the population....Do we really want to live to be 100?? Back to diapers and basking in the glory of late stage dementia??
